Cyprus-born (b.1998), now London-based, Kyriakos Costa is a Cypriot Composer, Pianist and Music Educator. His musical training is classically oriented, having also influences by the Greek folk and alternative rock music stage. Kyriakos studied Composition and Piano at Royal Holloway University of London, where he graduated with First Class Honours in 2020. During his studies, his works were workshopped and commissioned by the CHROMA Ensemble and The Tippet Quartet. In March 2020, Kyriakos was listed as one of the Young Generation Composers of CoMA 2020 Festival of New Music, with his piece called ‘clockwise’. In August 2020, he released his first single: ‘Pedi Sto Prosfigosimo’ (RefugeeChild on the Stamp). Currently a PG student at RHUL, Kyriakos composed a work as part of the 5th Picture Gallery Composer-in-Residence Schemeat RHUL which was produced and premiered as part of the scheme’s Digital Installation in April 2021.
